Out of memory error

Hi,
Recently, when opening a .pts file, I often get an out of memory error, even though there is plenty of memory left. It is not a memory consuming file - HDR composed of 3 tifs of 20 Mpx each. Restarting helps, but after a while the error comes back. Below is a screenshot.

PS
However, restarting PTGiu often doesn't help and I have to restart the system.

Hi Jakub,
Are you using PTGui 12.19?
Could you make the project available for download? I'd need the project
file and the tiffs.

Does the problem still occur if you disable GPU acceleration? Perhaps
it's related to the Quadro drivers. Otherwise I have no clue what could
cause this, you have plenty of memory available.

Hi Joost,
I didn't try to disable GPU acceleration, because I'm affraid it will slow processing, isn't it?
I reinstalled all the applications that I use simultaneously for editing panoramas and since then the problem has not appeared.

Unfortunately, the error returned, and before that, it was fine for some time. I don't know what it depends on. Any quick tips? I'm in the process of editing 100 panoramas for tomorrow.
This happens when using Photoshop and Bridge at the same time, but I can't afford to waste time restarting Ps and PTGui all the time, which helps for a while.
Tried with several nvidia drivers.

Hi Jakub,
My guess is that the error originates from the nvidia driver, and
happens because Photoshop or Bridge have already claimed GPU memory.
I've seen similar issues in the past with nvidia's drivers when
Photoshop or Lightroom were running while PTGui is stitching. It just
doesn't always work.
If the driver says 'No you cannot do this, Out of Memory', then that
will be it.
You can try reducing the amount of video memory used by PTGui (see
Options/ Advanced) or experiment with the GPU settings in Adobe's
applications.

My guess is that the error originates from the nvidia driver, and
happens because Photoshop or Bridge have already claimed GPU memory.
I've seen similar issues in the past with nvidia's drivers when
Photoshop or Lightroom were running while PTGui is stitching. It just
doesn't always work.
If the driver says 'No you cannot do this, Out of Memory', then that
will be it.
You can try reducing the amount of video memory used by PTGui (see
Options/ Advanced) or experiment with the GPU settings in Adobe's
applications.

Thanks Joost, I'll try to figure out what you suggest. The strange thing is that there was no such problem before, and I didn't change the hardware, I only updated the software.

Hi Jakub,
For what it might be worth, I've been having problems with an Nvidia P4000 GPU on on a new Windows 11 22H2 build with both PTGui v12.20 and Capture One v23 when exporting via the GPU. Interestingly, the error reported in Capture One is OpenCL Queue Fail Out Of Resources - 79, and I wonder if that could somehow be related to your memory issues?
The crashes are frustratingly random, which has so far made it impossible to isolate a potential cause, though as far as I can tell the issue appears to be confined to those two OpenCL applications and OpenGL programs don't seem to be affected.
I'm sorry that is of no direct help with your issue, but it might be a further data point if the problems are related in any way.

I experimented and it seems that reducing and properly distributing the RAM between PTGui and PS and lowering the GPU RAM usage in PTGui helped. So far the problems are gone.
