Hello All,

Just joined the group. We have been using the Inst360Pro2 for most of our 360 projects for a few years now. Looking for an alternative to the Insta360 stitcher.

Can PTGui be used for stitching Insta360Pro2 HDR RAW files?

Thank you for your advise and feedback.

PS: Couldn't find anything in FAQ's

Hi, i got a lot of interest in the insta360 pro 2.

If you pass me the images I can try to process them, of course for learning and for free.

Are you happy with the camera, does it have sewing errors due to the NP?

I am thinking of buying that camera for still images but I don't know if it will work better for me than the ricoh or the insta 360 one

The Insta 360 Pro suffers from severe parallax due to its size; you will
get significant stitching errors, especially indoors.

Thanks Joost for the feedback. So to be clear, do I understand that you are you saying that PTGui would not be a good solution for stitching Insta360 Pro panos?

To be even clearer: The Insta360 Pro is not a good camera for spherical
still images. Parallax cannot be fully corrected in software, but only
hidden or camouflaged, e.g. by inventing additional details.

Notice that PTGui tries hard to route seams around objects such that
they are kept whole, which is one way to hide parallax errors. But this
is not always possible.

In your opinion, what would be the best single shot camera from the stitching point of view? Which camera would make the best sphere with a single shot?

Regards.

Hi David,

Thin dual fisheye cameras like the Theta Z1 or the insta360 (non-Pro)
can be stitched easily.

One shot 360 cameras are great for action shots. But if the scene is
relatively static (landscapes, hotel rooms, real estate) I would instead
recommend using a regular camera with a fisheye lens on a panoramic
tripod head. Shooting 4 images is not much extra work and the quality
and resolution will be much better. And it's easy to keep the
photographer out of the picture.

Kind regards,
