Just a 'nit', perhaps.  I have started using XML-Creator (wow, what a learning curve!) to essentially add 'align-to-grid' capabilities for my spherical over-sea-and-cliffs panoramas.

This has solved the 'no control points in the sea' problems very nicely.

The 'nit' is that when I use File->Import->PapyWizard the folder shown is not the one I just loaded the images from (and where the XML file is) but some earlier-accessed folder -- probably where I last imported from?   In any case, it's terribly easy [I speak from experience :-)] to not notice the number/time change and import the wrong XML.    Any chance of assuming XML load should be from same folder as the images load?

Thanks -- Mike

Hi Mike,

This would have to be optional, as other users may expect or prefer the
current behavior. I'll add this to the wish list.

Kind regards,

Yes .. it's terribly hard to decide which folder to prompt with .. I used to prompt folder names by filetype (image etc.) and whether used to save or load.  Over the years I've simplified that to separate save or load folders, and I think I'm about to go the final step and simply prompt with 'last used folder'.

No two applications seem to do it exactly the same way... :-)

So maybe your optional behaviour (rather than being for this specific import case) could be a "prompt with last used folder" for all  cases -- hence more widely useful.  [In fact I just added that to my wishlist for MapGazer and PanGazer ... :-).]

Why not simply use speaking filenames?

or descriptive filenames, filenames that tell you which panorama they
belong to.

I'm not sure that would help much.   Remember that I have dozens of the things from each trip and the panorama names are just numbers anyway, as set by DJI, so easy enough to make a mistake.  Having them in the same directory as the source images should be foolproof (DJI makes a separate directory for each panorama, which works well).

PS the XML creator names don't seem to bear any relationship to the panos either, e.g.: HAS-GENERIC-2023-05-03_13h45m21s.xml
