Hi,

I'm a software engineer working on a web application for managing media files (photos, videos) from the drones. One of the requirements is to select bunch of photos from the drone, click "Create panorama" button and watch the magic happen - panorama will be created and user will be able to view it. How can I use PTGui to make this magic happen?

I checked support page and it seems that at the moment PTGui has only limited command line options: 6.32. How can I stitch a PTGui project from the command line?

Is there any way to make PTGui support this use case?

BTW: I tested PTGui using 2 sets of 32 photos from the drone and it does really good job creating 360x180° panorama on a default settings, so really good job PTGui team!

Thanks,

Hi Jacek,

There is a way: you would need to create a project file based on a set
of images. Then for subsequent panoramas, you need to rename the source
images so they match the file names recorded in the project file.

In the project file, make sure this checkbox is enabled in Project
Settings - Batch Stitcher Actions:
Do 'Align Images'
and disable the 'only if enough control points found' checkbox.
You also need to delete all control points in the project file (Control
Points -> Delete All Control Points)

The project file can then be stitched from the command line as explained
in 6.32. Keep in mind that the batch stitcher will generate control
point and optimize the panorama. This will alter the project file on
disk (so keep a copy of the original one).

You should also keep in mind that there will be cases where PTGui is
unable to find control points for some images. Without user intervention
this might occasionally result in a misaligned panorama.

Kind regards,

Thanks Joost for the quick answer. I will definitely try that in the coming days and let know here if it worked for me.
