Hi Everyone.
It seems since upgrading to PT 19.6 i seem to be having trouble moving tracks on some of my sessions.
I’ve used all 3 methods of moving tracks as Slau has Suggested. I’ve always been able to get around this issue in recent times. But what’s happening is this.
When I issue the mouse down command in the Track list table V O says mouse down and the track name. Or some times the word Menu, then when I go to the track i want to jump in front of, nothing changes when I issue mouse up command.
I have also tried interacting with the track in mix window, and doing a mouse down on the track name. But when i go to the track i want to jump in front of, and mouse up, the VO focus jumps out of protools and goes to finder.
I’ve also tried hiding all tracks except the tracks i’m needing to move, and jump in front of, But still no go.
when moving in the mix window voice over jumps out of protools and goes to finder when I issue mouse up. It seems that voice over is not focused in the right place. I’ve also checked for notifications obscuring the window. All seems good there. But i must be missing something. Has anyone seen this, and If So am I doing something wrong. or is there a work around for this.
Thanks guys.
Steve

Are you sure you have your mouse pointer set to follow your Voiceover
cursor? Before doing your mouse down, and your mouse up, try doing a
VO+Command+F5 to route your mouse pointer to the current item. That's
the only thing I can possibly think of.
Chris.

Just to add when I issue the mouse down command in the track list table, the exact message is mouse down on edit, and then the name of the track is announced.
and I can’t seem to move anything.
This is not across every session, So it must be session related i’d think

Hey chris. thanks for this.Actually i gave this a run. But it does work for some of the tracks in the project, but not others. I added new tracks to the session this afternoon and all the new tracks will not let me move them. when after issuing the vo command f 5 when ever I hit mouse down it says mouse down on edit then the name of the song i’m working on. Very weird i’ve not seen this before. I hope i can get around this, as without this it’s very hard to mix with tracks all over the place.
Thanks for your thoughts Chris. Should be useful in the feature.

Try doing it all in the Mix window, make sure you've maximized the window and make sure no other floating windows or dialogs are in the way. Keep us posted,
