prometheus just stops working

This is the error I got from the log.

I have googled, and did not find anything valuable.

retention cutoff failed" err="open directory: open /var/lib/prometheus/data: transport endpoint is not connected"

Hello,

It looks like you are using NFS, which is not supported by Prometheus.

The prometheus version is 2.8.0.
