For Brad. I'd like to use ORCCA (edition 3 under development) as the
"flagship" example for WeBWorK-PreTeXt-Runestone. I know DMOI and AC
are already doing that, but of course there are kinks to work out. I
can understand those best (and iron them out) if I'm working with
ORCCA.

I have a build target that is only the first section of the book. It
will grow as editing continues. Editing includes creating labels for
webwork-containing exercises. Can we create a workflow for this build
target in a Runestone course, for me to use while working on coding
improvements? CLI only, no special branch of PTX. And no special
branch of ORCCA; just the main branch using this build target.

If we can do this, what sort of workflow helps for when I need to ask
for the build to be updated? Will you be at a drop-in this week to
talk it through?

Alex,

I will add ORCCA back to the set of books on RA.  Then If you remind me of your username on RA I will make you an author and give you permission to pull and build ORCCA on demand on RA.  This would work for  CLI only, no special branch of PreTeXt and no special branch of ORCCA.

Also, today Rob and I walked through a setup for him to build on my development server.  I would be happy to do the same for you so that you can do more experimental stuff without impacting the production server at all.  This could be used for testing with special branches of whatever.

And removes the need for you to ask me to build.

I will be at drop-in again on Friday or we can schedule a time to zoom and discuss. It turns out that tomorrow morning is suddenly free due to rain in the desert. :-)

And I have a transcript of what we did and am still logged in, so I'll clean up
some notes on the process later this evening.

Alex,

Where would I find this repo with the branch?  https://github.com/PCCMathSAC/orcca/tree/edition

Has not been updated recently.  I also checked Alex-Jordan.

Thanks Brad, I couldn't meet this morning. It was packed with local
meetings. Maybe Friday?

The progress on ORCCA is still local, with a lot uncommitted. I am
tidying up this afternoon and will plan to push. It's all on the
"edition" branch, following a convention we started a number of years
ago that a PTXC project's "edition" branch is for working toward the
nex edition. Will that work out?

And at this time, the target for the CLI will be something like
"first-chapter". I've got a lot to do before anything more will be
ready (like with labels on exercises, although that is just the tip of
the work to do).

Brad, see my note on another thread about pdf2svg. I'm trying to get
the whole CLI workflow for ORCCA ironed out before getting over to
Runestone. Maybe there is no problem on RA right now with pdf2svg, but
it's the kind of thing I don't want frustrating the workflow later.

Alex,

Yes that should work fine.  I'll look for your push on the edition branch and get something set up on the dev server.
