Hi,
I thought this group might be interested to know that I currently have a Monarch braille display. It's technically on loan from CATT-NW, but I expect that I'll have it for at least the next few months, likely longer.

I'm just unboxing it now, so I haven't put it through its paces yet. The newest version of JAWS now supports multi-line braille displays, and I'm really curious to see how it will work with math content. If you have Monarch experiments you want to run, let me know.

Are you making an "unboxing" video for TikTok?

Yahoo! Thanks - that'll be great. I'll see about producing something for you.
I presume an "un-paginated" BRF would be a reasonable format?

No unboxing video, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around this thing. I've got some basics down, but I haven't tried loading any new files onto it.

I don't know if the BRF you provide needs to be unpaginated or not. My guess is that it shouldn't matter?? It does use a 32-cell line.

I'll send both.

That'll be interesting. If I was good, it'll mean just one edit before I build
output....

Would Monarch accept SVG images with Braille? Here's one from David's PreFigure Playground.

It doesn’t support SVG yet. The Monarch FAQ document has some helpful details.
  • Currently supports these file types: APK, BRL, BRF, Doc, Docx, EBRF, EPUB, JPG, PDF images, PDF documents, PNG, TXT
  • You can add your own graphics in PDF format
