Open Ran experiment setup with cells and x-apps

Hi,

I want to setup open ran experiment using oran profile:-

"O-RAN" and Connecting to Other Experiments with RAN Resources using profile: " srslte-shvlan-oran". I want to create few number of cells to monitor them and control them using x-apps. Does anyone has any idea of how to deploy cells in this profiles? Thanks Saish

Hi Saish. Yes, if you instantiate the O-RAN profile as described in its
"Connecting to Other Experiments with RAN Resources" section (e.g.
creating a shared vlan when you select parameters during instantiation),
you can connect multiple NodeBs to it by instantiating the
srslte-shvlan-oran profile
(https://www.powderwireless.net/p/PowderTeam/srslte-shvlan-oran). Using
its parameters, you can create multiple NodeBs and UEs, each associated
with an SDR and running srsRAN, and binding specific UEs to NodeBs---all
of this results in customization of the srsRAN config files on each
node, to build the desired networks. You could also instantiate the
`srslte-shvlan-oran` profile multiple times, one for each cell, but it
may be easier to place all NodeBs in the same experiment, because the
profile and its runtime configuration scripts will assign unique IDs to
each NodeB. The NexRAN xApp is happy to monitor and control as many
NodeBs as you configure it with. This example is still based on our
O-RAN-enabled srsRAN fork, so it is 4G-only, but we do plan to evolve it
to current srsRAN later in the spring.

Hi Saish, sorry for the delay! No, not yet; we have not ported the
NexRAN service models to the latest srsRAN with upstream E2; and we have
not added the RC service model support to the NexRAN xApp. Both are on
our list, but no ETA. You should certainly be able to manually connect
an srsRAN DU/CU to the RICs this profile configures, though.

Hi David,

The setup on ORAN profile for node is complete and running, I also received the email with credentials, but when I click on link:- the Kubernetes Dashboard WWW interface its not working.

I am able to get to nginx website using link on email.

I did few checks via linux terminal:-

it seems its having issues as some are init. Can someone help with this?

Hi,

I rebuild the nodes and finally able to access the kubernetes cluster

Hi Saish, apologies for the slow reply; my mail was held by the list.

When you select the option to run the SMO on a single-node Kubernetes
installation as you did before, you will need to increase the amount of
pods per host; in the Advanced section of the parameter picker, look for
`Kubelet Max Pods` and set it to something like 256. That is almost
certainly the issue you experienced.

Hi Saish, just near the Grafana link in the instructions is the random
password to use for grafana. It is the same password as you used
earlier to login to grab the token for the kubespray dashboard.
