Hello Powder Team,

My name is Drew Schlesener and I am working as a Graduate Researcher in the IS-WIN lab at Clemson University.

I wanted to ask which Powder Experiment Profiles have access to Beamforming capabilities?

Also, are their any Xilinx FPGAs that I can use in Powder's testing environment?

Thanks so much,

Drew Schlesener

Hello Drew,

POWDER's current MIMO capabilities are slim to non-existent, depending
on what you are looking to do specifically. Maybe you can say a bit
more about the number of antennas, and what beamforming capabilities
you are looking for?

As for Xilinx FPGAs, we have what comes with the NI software defined
radios that we make available. You can see what radios we have, and
where they are by checking the Hardware section of the manual, and by
clicking on the sites shown on the POWDER map (to see what is deployed
where):

https://docs.powderwireless.net/hardware.html
https://www.powderwireless.net/powder-map.php

Aside from the FPGA devices in the SDRs, we don't have other Xilinx
devices available at the moment. We do have a couple of high-spec
compute nodes with H100 GPUs and Bluefield-3 NIC/DPUs in them, if
those might be of interest.

BR,
-Kirk
