I thought a globally referenced bootstrap.css would not be able to style polymers?

I've been reading about how a globally included bootstrap.css can't style html inside polymer elements, but its seems to be working
just fine for me. For example, I have an index.html that includes bootstrap.css and instantiates app.html, which then instantiates view.html.
If I add a bootstrap button anywhere in the chain (i.e. class="btn etc"), the style gets applied. Is this a change in the new version?

Yes, you'll see this if you use the ShadowDOM polyfill since it doesn't enforce styling encapsulation. If you use native ShadowDOM (Canary + experimental web platform features) the styles won't apply.

You'll need to include the necessary styling inside any shadowRoot that needs it.
