Concerns at Overlea

Good evening,

I was hoping to attend the next MVF board meeting to voice my concerns about security in our neighborhood, but could not figure out when the next meet is scheduled for. Could you please let me know the date and time so I can testify?

In addition, I would like to bring a few situations to your attention as I have had to call the police almost every night when I get home from work is becoming exhausting.

For some time now we have had significant challenges with the wooded area behind our homes on Gentle Circle (it is the area in Overlea near the creek and the bridge). There are oftentimes people drinking and smoking marijuana in the wooded area. On Monday I had to call the police because a kid no older than ten was driving a four wheeler around up and down sidewalks while children no older than five chased him. Yesterday I had to call the police because a half naked young man was digging a large hole with a sharp object in the middle of the open space in a thunder storm and today while trying to take a walk I ran into five men smoking marijuana at 5:30 in the evening on the bike path next to the creek. I have not seen any type of security in our area for some time and the incidents are increasing rapidly. I would like to know what the board is doing to keep residents safe and how these continued issues will be addressed.

I did not see the info for our nest meeting. I too would like to be there. Please include me in any info dates. I have spoke to Sean regarding security & I know they were looking at another company for security & towing. It does seem like the summer all the kids are out of school & have too much time on there hands unsupervised.

Good Evening Mr. Gargan,

I have not heard back from you regarding my email from June 20th but have heard from other concerned Overlea community members, please see below. I am also including Sean regarding the overall lack of security presence at Overlea as well as pictures of the hole people keep coming back to and digging around in and the new tire tracks that are in the field and lead up to this hole. 

I have no idea what is buried around that area, but it’s clear that a lot of people are interested in it. Perhaps the security company has a dog that could figure it out?

Also, if you could let us know about the next board meeting that would be great. I’d like to get my concerns on the public record.

Jen,

  Northgate Homes still has security working 8 hour shifts 7 days a week.  I know recently we received notice from several concerned residents and we learned security purchased new vehicles which were unmarked.  I had a discussion with the owner last week and informed him the point of security is to be visible while they are out in the community.  He promised they would be getting these new vehicles marked so the residents were aware when they would be on patrol.

 

  I am sorry but your pictures did not come through so I am not aware of the location of the hole you are talking about.
