  • macOS version: 10.14 Beta (18A293u)
  • Karabiner version: Karabiner-Elements 12.1.0
  • Your Mac hardware: MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2017, Touch Bar (MacBookPro14,3)
  • Your keyboard hardware: Apple internal keyboard
When Karabiner is installed on macOS Mojave (10.14 Beta 18A293u), the built-in keyboard no longer changes the Caps Lock light indicator from white to green. Caps Lock functionality still works normally throughout the system, though.

Uninstalling Karabiner immediately solves the issue.

This bug does not happen at all on macOS High Sierra (10.13.5 17F77).

If you need additional information, such as logs, please don't hesitate on contacting me.

Thank you for feedback!

I'll confirm this issue, please wait.
(I guess it is a macOS beta issue.)

I am also having this issue,
I'm on a near identical configuration, the expectation is I'm on a later build of 10.14 beta (18A314h) vs (18A293u)

  • Karabiner version: Karabiner-Elements 12.1.0
  • Your Mac hardware: MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2017, Touch Bar (MacBookPro14,3)

Still happening on macOS 10.14 Beta 4 (18A336e), with Karabiner-Elements version 12.1.0.
Additional note: If you start Karabiner-Elements while Caps Lock is on, the green light stays on all the time. It will only go white again once you quit Karabiner and the key behaves normally again.

Also seeing this in the latest Mojave Public Beta. Disabling the "Modify events from this device" tick box allows the LED to work. Toggling the "Manipulate LED" checkbox does nothing.

Same bug about LED not working on Caps Lock is present on GM/Final version of Mojave.

Issue occurs on an iMac and an iMac Pro upgraded from High Sierra to Mojave (public release).

Looking forward to a fix!

For me, Karabiner is not only breaking the built in keyboard caps-lock, but also my USB keyboard's caps lock light. When Karabiner is not running everything works fine but obviously I lose my key mappings.  I am running the official public release of macOS Mojave 10.14.

Still happening on macOS Mojave version 10.14.1 Beta 4 (18B67a) with Karabiner-Elements version 12.1.50 (beta).
I also reported this issue to Apple on the AppleSeed program.

It seems to be working fine with Karabiner Elements version 12.1.54 (beta).
I tested it on macOS Mojave version 10.14.1 Beta 4 (18B67a) and 10.14.1 Beta 5 (18B73a).

macOS version: 10.14
Karabiner version: 12.1.0
Mac hardware: MacBook Pro 15-inch, 2017, Touch Bar
Keyboard hardware: Internal keyboard and Magic Keyboard w/ 10-key

The caps-lock light on both internal and external keyboards stopped working when I upgraded to Mojave.  However upgrading Karabiner to the BETA version seems to have solved it!

Thanks devs for the quick fix
