Hi!

At our university we're no longer allowed to use Oracle Java. On my computers I have installed OpenJDK, but this is not an easy solution for colleagues or students.

Can you please give me some information what Java distribution/license is used in OpenRefine with embedded Java?

Thanks,
Wolf

Hi Wolf,

The JDK that we bundle in our Windows and Mac packages is OpenJDK,
available under the "GPLv2+CE" license:
https://adoptopenjdk.net/about.html

Best,
Antonin

Antonin, team,

Hmm, I wonder if we should just mention that on the download/release description to avoid this question in the future?  Probably?

I've suggested the change for our Downloads page...
