Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can get a complete list of minimum interchange times for larger stations? (for example: you would need a minimum of 12 minutes to 'officially' interchange at Birmingham New St)

I know that brtimes exposes this information, but haven't managed to find an obvious source for this in the datasets I have available to me / google isn't turning up anything on the subject, but it's very possible I've missed something!

Thanks,
Nathan

It’s in the MSN file of the RDG timetable data:

A BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET 3BHAMNWSBHM BHM14070 6286712

The “12” at the end is the interchange time.

Note also that a few stations have TOC-specific interchange times - for example at Farringdon you need 3 minutes for Thameslink-Thameslink, 5 minutes for EL-EL, and 8 minutes for Thameslink-EL. These are defined in the TSI file, again from the RDG data.

The minimum connection times, and the TOC-specific interchange times, can also be found in Network Rail's Timetable Planning Rules. Though that series of documents does not hold them in a form that is readily extractable.
