I know it’s Monday morning - but does anyone fancy meeting me somewhere in the City to watch us win this evening?

Give us a txt 0466 450 507

Sorry mate, I was already asleep when you sent this. Were you out on the pop last night?

I haven't watched the highlights yet. Reports said we were all over them

Got up to watch this, should have been 3 or 4 nil. 2 – 1 flattered them. Villa not in it 1st half but a bit better 2nd half.

Traore unplayable at the moment. Didn’t get the bounce of the ball infront of goal, Jimenez and Jota could have had 2 a piece.

Up to 8th and the dreaded international break again.

Sorry Jimmy, watched it at home, hope you had a good night.

I don't think our squad is big enough to go far into Europe and get 6/7th in the league again.  I'd take a good run in Europe and mid table this season

Having said that all the games up to Christmas are winnable.

Funniest line I've seen:

"Massive respect for the Villa fans. 90 minutes silence on Remembrance Sunday"

Agree about mid-table but depends on how well we strengthen in January.

If we play our best team and they are rested then I think we can beat anyone on the day, including Liverpool!

Hoping for a good FA Cup run again. Just qualifying for the next stage of the Europa League would be great.

Isn't January strengthening a bit crap these days? Seems no big moves get made. The villa forum is talking about strengthening in January. Nobody will go there is they are near the bottom.

Boly is out for the season and if we are still in the Europa League then I can see 2 or 3 big signings coming in.

The season? I thought it was six weeks?

Maybe pick up a couple of loans from teams that have exited Europe. Nobody seems to sell in Jan.

My mistake, apparently Boly is out for around 3 months according to latest reports.

Do we really need him now Nuno has transformed another of our midfielders into a classy defender?

Reckon he could he turn Jota into a centre back or even a goalie if he wished.

Of course we need him. We need at least a similar standard of player to cover every position. Our injury luck will not continue. Indeed it hasn’t this season so far. If we go 2 x seasons without Neves, Jimenez, Coady, Moutinho being injured we will be blessed.

While I reckon Boly has been our top defender this season, where I think he is missed most is as a big fella in the box for set pieces - those few goals he scores can be the difference between wins, draws and losses... I believe this is why Nuno has pushed Neves up to more of an attacking midfielder - not to replace Boly but to give us another scoring option from set pieces now we have lost the big player in the box.
