Only so much can be covered in 10 minutes but my notes:

  • _most_ failures happen at connections.. yes. But not all - TTBN had the factory wires running through the glass/foam layers fail  (bow light run I think?) and I'm definitely concerned/aware I could have the same situation.
  • hydraulic crimpers from Amazon are shockingly cheap. Someone mentioned it during our meeting but wow..
  • first comment says - don't go feeling connections for heat with your hand like the video suggests. Project Farm just did some reviews of thermal cameras, but a no-contact thermometer can work well and is much cheaper. Just be aware that they are sensitive to the color of the object(s) being tested
  • still no word on the Official Best Solution to tying LiFePO4 house batteries to a marine outboard 🤣

Hi,

My new Corsair 880 may be ready to launch soon. The exact date and time depends on when ESI finishes the work on it (expected to be in about 2 weeks), tides, and expected weather.

I am looking for 1 or 2 people to help me move it from ESI in La Conner to Cap Sante in Anacortes. It will be launched at ESI. The plan is to transit the Swinomish Channel, then proceed to Cap Sante. I am new to this area, so I’m unfamiliar with local conditions (though I *have* studied charts and currents information…), and of course there may be unexpected issues with the new boat. A few extra hands would be welcome, particularly with docking at Cap Sante.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks,
Richard Bryan

I'm on a land yacht road trip so not sure I'll be home by then. Keep this list informed when the date nears. If I'm home I can probably give you an (old) hand.

Richard,
I've retired to mostly Anacortes, and may be available to assist, planning one of those land yacht tours like Eric though, too.

Hi Richard, welcome welcome very exciting!

My wife and I are both likely to be available, we aren't even planning a land yacht trip around then. She's done the Swinomish a few times, and I've done it about 10x at this point. :-)

I'll send you my cell phone # offlist.

Will you be needing to fold to fit in your Cap Sante spot?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your kind offer.
I will inform this thread when I get closer and know more about when it will happen.

I don’t need to fold the boat. They gave me the slip formerly occupied by Ginny Jo Blue's Undaunted, so I’ll be tying up by the port side. As you may know, that spot is right in the corner of the marina, so may be a bit tricky to approach.

Best,
Richard Bryan

Richard did you get your boat moved? If not I'm around now and can help depending on my schedule. Cheers

It’s not ready yet. The boatyard is still working on it (I hope).

Thanks for checking.
