Hi,

I'm looking for help to develop a system for rapid exchange of
emerging clinical information to help front-line staff (or tell me
about anything that already does this job and I will happily promote
that instead!).

My initial thought is for a wiki to allow rapid sharing of information
between clinicians and academia, drawing on local guidelines,
protocols, strategies etc. and referencing the rapidly growing body of
research. I haven't been able to find one place that brings all this
together. The aim is to save time for clinicians by building a trusted
resource that evolves rapidly with the evidence base and shares ideas
between everyone fighting the virus. I'm not suggesting it will be
clinically verified but it will help clinicians to rapidly sift
through the evidence and reach their own conclusions.

I would propose it be open to edit by anyone with an nhs.net, *.nhs.uk
and *.ac.uk verified email address. That way the information on the
wiki would be more trustworthy (at the obvious risk of excluding
people, but hopefully that would cover most relevant parties).

This is just the kernel of an idea at present so please share any
thoughts. I'm currently in self-isolation myself until Tuesday so have
some time to work on this right now but would need help to get it up
and running ASAP.

Best wishes,
Dr Oliver Madge

Oops, didn't specifically say, but hopefully obviously, this would be
for information about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19.

Best wishes,
Oliver

James Heilman (from WikiProject Medicine) has just got this off the ground  http://covid19.popup.wiki/wiki/Covid19Relay so that might be a good place to start.

Looks similar to my idea but I wonder if something more limited in
scope to the NHS/UK would be more relevant to the UK situation. I also
think restricting editing to likely trustworthy contributors would
help it become a trusted resource. (And by "just" it looks like it's
been up a matter of hours with no content so far!)

That is a really valuable resource.

Dear Dr Madge

We have developed a prototype address free communication system that allows people to instantaneously create, find, or join conversations in an environment that is trusted but that does not require the frictional exchange of address information.

What we are doing sounds suitable for your stated purpose: "a system for rapid exchange of emerging clinical information to help front-line staff" as the system is conceived to allow people that share a particular interest to continue to redesign how the information around it is organised as things evolve, and find it easily.

Please let me know if you'd like to talk.

Dear team,

I'm urgently tried to set up a webpage for doctors in Thames Valley with all the up-to-date deanery information and for wellbeing support. I  have a temporary URL and have built the website on WordPress but I don't seem to be able to get the planned URL covid19-prosupport.com to get DNS Propagation. I'd be super grateful if anyone can help me!

Thanks
Aisling

Hi. Is it perhaps still pending, it can take a little while.

Hi Aisling. It's actually working on my end and has propagated. I'm at home right now so using the TalkTalk DNS servers.

You may want to clear your DNS cache or try again in a Chrome incognito window and you might find it works. You can check the status of worldwide propagation by putting the URL into https://www.whatsmydns.net/ and checking the A record matches what you think it should.
