Indeed. This seems to be a perennial topic on the forum.... I've had
multiplexed and direct drive clocks going for years and years and haven't
noticed any tube lifetime differences.... (I know, not a definitive study
by any means!). You're probably aware of the attached from Burroughs
explicitly outlining multiplexing for their tubes...
