Please forgive the blatant advert...

I have a few dekatron clocks available from the first batch of kits I
made up and Nick has his cases available. Details are here:

http://www.sgitheach.org.uk/harwell.html

and here

https://stocksclocks.com/index.php/harwell-a-dekatron-clock/

Nick will also sell built and cased clocks. We have dekatrons available.
The prices and open source documentation are available on the webpages.
I will be making up further kits in the future.

If you are interested, I am currently making up kits for a second batch
of our E1T clock:

http://www.sgitheach.org.uk/fortress.html

If you want to lodge your interest with me then please do so and I will
be back in touch when the kits are ready. I have a limited stock of E1T
tubes.

Nick has built and cased clocks available now - details are here

https://stocksclocks.com/index.php/fortress-an-e1t-clock/

Please PM Nick or I (or both) and please don't reply to the list.

Ta Grahame

Please forgive the blatant endorsement....

This is a most excellent kit - extremely well thought out, a great pleasure to build and to own whether you like dekatrons or not.

.. and it's so much more than just a clock (in fact, telling the time is the last thing I look at it for!) It's visually impressive with an infinitely configurable array of back and underlighting options as well as speakers for output of chimes and many other goodies.

Great work Grahame and Nick.

I would also say the instructions and ‘how it works’ are great with Grahame and Nick giving really excellent support.

The kit is well thought out. So good, I built the Fortress clock and now I am in them idle of the Dekatron clock….

It’s a pleasure to build.

Those are pretty awesome clocks!  A bit more than I want to shell out right now, but kits look attractive.  Did you ever adapt it to use the Soviet tubes that are slightly more available?

The initial design was intended to include the OG4. The difficulty is that the bulb size and the pin orientation is so different to the British and American dekatrons. I would need to redesign and have made PCBs specifically for the OG4. I’m unlikely to do this. I have loads of British dekatrons and Nick has loads of both British and American.

The other "issue" with the OG-4's is that finding any with completely clear front glass is nearly impossible. The american 6802's work well with the clock as do the GC10B's etc. Interestingly, I've found some variation in the 6802's with regards to the appearance of the anode disc. Grahame and I are quite chuffed with the way this one turned out, but we did learn a few things on the way too. Alas, nice things take time.

There are some more different clocks coming down the pike, so stay tubed!

Cheers,

Nick

Nick I have an original box of new OG-4's (non metal base) and a sealed box of A-101.  They're NIB and I have noticed they have a filter I think intended to reduce glare.  I have a bunch of 6802's as well NIB.  When my neon addiction got really going it branched out into much more than Nixie tubes.  It is sorta an affliction.
