There's no numeric conversion path from Pathfinder 1 to 2, they encourage an more 'in the spirit of' conversion.  The new ruleset is pretty spare, it will take a while for Paizo to release supplementary material, but what they have looks pretty cool.

Is everyone okay with re-imagining their character?  If you're in the market for a new concept entirely now would be the time to explore.

I'm planning on narratively recapping what has come before and then treating the 'new' PF2E party like a comicbook retcon.

What do we all think?  The official Conversion Guide is attached to this message.  The 2E core rulebook is in my pdf library, I'll give credential info to anyone who needs it.

Sounds good to me, gonna stick with Kelmaa.

If we're on next week, do we want to do this together then? Either way works for me.

I'll be out next week, if that's the case. Going to Cali.

Revamping Tenlow for a system that doesn't include androids or gunslingers might be a little tricksy.  Might be a good time for a brand new character.  In keeping with the mismatch race ancestry/class pairing of Tenlow, I'm thinking about a goblin monk of some sort, with more or less monk, perhaps, depending on Tully's participation and/or character decisions.

Chris, you tend to do about 1000x more char creation prep than the rest of us combined.  I'm confident that you and I can work out your stuff online.

Let's plan on working on this stuff next Thursday but try and hash as much of it out in advance via email or IM as possible.

You may have given me access to your pdf vault, but can't find the link, etc...If you don't mind shooting that to me and whatever else would be good for a noob to read up on.

I've already started poking around with 2e a bit, I think I'd like to continue with Jacques as Alchemist though I plan to refine the RP a bit beyond just "DO ALL THE DRUGS AND BLOW UP EVERYTHING."

My latest HeroLab has Jacques at level 8, is that correct and are we planning on that level or something else?

We are planning on staying at the same level(ish).  Whatever level the majority of the party is at will be the level everyone builds to.

Damon, the address is https://793.93.djeo.net:18443/ and the username is rpglibrarian.  I'll text the pass to you.

I plan on rebuilding Aakpesh as a barbarian with a (aberrant) sorcerer archetype to fit the bloodrager class he was before. Should be fun.

This sounds like my opportunity to jump into a bard who destroys the eardrums of his enemies by the great power of a doom metal dirge, played on the most annoying instrument known to Golarion: the bagpipes.

Hey Byron, we should work out some sort of mixed attack where Aakpesh uses your goblin monk as an improvised thrown weapon.

There are some new ancestries in the Lost Omens Character Guide if you're interested: hobgoblins, leshies, and lizardfolk.

Paul - found a physical copy of my old character sheet, looks like Tenlow had just crested the level 9 mark.

Chris - I'm totally down for some goblin-as-a-weapon action.  There's a lot of monk options and I haven't looked through them closely yet, so my initial thoughts are based just on goblin ancestry and feats.  GM willing, I could be:
* an "unbreakable goblin" (small HP boost, lowers falling damage) with the "bouncy goblin" feat (acrobatics training, bonus to moving through enemy space), perfect for launching across the battlefield.
* a "razortooth goblin" (grants a bite attack) with the "fang sharpener" feat (more damage from bites).  Swing me by the feat while I scream, mouth open wide, and hopefully hit something face-first.

Character Work-In-Progress:
Taih'nt S'mehl Y'uhk
Female Goblin Monk
Most Treasured Possession: Unsoilable Pink Bow

Everyone, take your characters to 9th level.  If you can't get it done by Thursday we'll work on them then.

I've been reading about item creation and treasure by level if you're not starting at 1st.

Magic items are grouped by level now and divided into Permanent and Consumable.  9th level characters start with one 8th level permanent item, two 7th level, one sixth, and  two fifth. (Table 10-10, page 511)
An example of an 8th level magic item is a +1 Thundering Maul. (Table 11-1, page 536)

You also get 250gp for walking-around money.

It's all a little confusing so we'll work it out together if need be.

Gentlemans, I ran across this on page 580 of ye olde rulebook:
The number of property runes a weapon or armor can have is equal to the value of its potency rune. A +1 weapon can have one property rune, but it could hold another if the +1 weapon potency rune were upgraded to a +2 weapon potency rune. Since the striking and resilient runes are fundamental runes, they don’t count against this limit.

I don't believe the bolded bit was our understanding last night.  I was ready to get a +1 Striking Handwraps and swap the out a fire rune or something, but no need, I could just plug that fire rune right on in and have +1 Striking Flaming Handwraps and not go over the rune limit, and it becomes a level 8 item, so I wouldn't go over our magic item budget.  That adds a whole lotta damage.  Instead of 1d6, the striking makes it 2d6, and the flaming makes it 2d6 + 1d6 fire with the potential to also set things on fire on a crit. I have to say, I like big numbers in this game.  It adds oomph. :)

Hey Byron/Paul, did Tenlow understand the alien language at all, or did he just have lore/technologist knowledge?

I have Androffan (the alien lang), if it matters

Tenlow had the language and the knowledge, yeah.  Kinda lost all that with the new goblin character, but at least Kelmaa remains our link to the story.  Paul said we're treating this as though all the characters have been in this all along, though, so maybe someone else will have picked it up along the way.  My goblin would've had to have just learned some by virtue of frequent exposure, she's not one to study and she's not particularly intelligent.  As far as engineering knowledge, she might have learned enough to make an educated case about where to punch and kick things to disable them, but that's about it.

Tully, since you're stepping into the bard role go ahead and add (or swap in) Androffan.
Also, robutts are constructs.  Constructs are mindless and immune to mind affecting spells.
