Query on Nek5000

I am a beginner in nek5000,I will go through the nek5000 documentation.But i cant understand how to compile and run it.Plz get some tips how can i start at the begining

Did you take a look at the tutorial: http://nek5000.github.io/NekDoc/quickstart.html#running-your-very-first-simulation?

Dear Carasik & Divyansh ,

                       Thank you for your email. I have executed the following commands successfully:

cd ~
tar -xvzf Nek5000_X.Y.tar.gz
export PATH=$HOME/Nek5000/bin:$PATH
cd ~/Nek5000/tools; ./maketools genmap
cd ~/Nek5000/run
cp -r ../examples/eddy_uv .
cd eddy_uv

but when I gave the command 
genmap

the cursor was blinking for 

Input .rea / .re2 name:
 

then I gave the input 

eddy_uv

after that I received the foolwings;


 reading eddy_uv.rea                                                                     
Input mesh tolerance (default 0.2):
NOTE: smaller is better, but generous is more forgiving for bad meshes.

I don't know how to edit script to change settings

Kindly help me.

Hi Sandip,

In this context, you may accept default mesh tolerance by hitting ‘enter’ or you can input desired tolerance, say 0.1 for example.

Consequently, casename.map will be generated and you are then ready to run the case. Then, you may run the case using nekbmpi given that you have successfully build tools beforehand.

            First of all I would like to Thanks all of you for great reply. I am very beginner in that field, Actually I don't know how to use nek5000. As mentioned in this paper " postx" .My question is that how can I get postx,how can I install postx.I install (tcsh ) file after that use postx command but command not found.
Plz resolve my problem then i can start my work.
