We've had "stuff" to deal with, one issue being a dead battery in my
truck (new one purchased, friend helping me to change it out tomorrow)
so I haven't been able to get out to the ponds and listen close up.
What I am hearing at night is one loud screaming roar coming over the
hill, no way to distinguish if it's wood frogs, peepers, or chorus
frogs, but whatever they are, it sounds like a lot of them.
I need to check the "down the hill" pond to see if the spotted
salamanders are gathering, I have a feeling that I may have missed it.
On Wednesday (April 15th) coming back from town I saw my first painted
turtle out on a log in the roadside ponds.
I'm already growling at the cold weather coming up,-3C predicted for
Sunday night, -5C for Monday night with low daytime digits. Just in
time for when I get my truck back.
At least last night was 10C, albeit very foggy, had the moth light on
and got 6 species of moths. Haven't downloaded the pics to process
yet. Season's started and I'm already behind.
