Crossing out but still having reminders in future

Hi there!

We are a photography business and I'm wondering if I "check off" a substask BUT edit the timing for a reminder in a year, will that reminder occur even though the subtask is checked off as complete?

As an example - I have a subtask which is a client's name.  Her shoot is not until 2019.  Her contract has been signed and there is nothing more to do with her until 2 months prior to her shoot.  I would like to check her off because for now she is complete.  BUT I would like to be reminded of her 2 months before so we can begin engaging again and prepare for her shoot.

If the task is checked as complete, it shouldn’t be able to generate a reminder

 

Here’s one approach - create a task of Client Name Shoot, and note it as a project, and under that, create two subtasks

• One is Sign contract – that’s the one you’ve done, so you can check it off as complete
• The other is Check with Client about Shoot – that’s the one you set the distant reminder for

When you get the reminder, you can review what still needs doing in this Project, and that might prompt you to add extra subtasks as required

When every subtask in the project is checked off, you can also check off the project as complete

This way you can nest all your tasks for this project is the Project folder in your MLO Outline

Or, you could use the start date : the task will not be active before 2019, and if, in your views, you only select active tasks, this one will not be displayed.
