Essentially, I would like a running view that is "Weekend Chores". Chores, of course is a context, but I am unable to find any sort of Date filter that is dynamic enough so that it is day-based.

I think it would be a strong enhancement to create a new value in the StartDate and DueDate filters
Operator =IS
Values=Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday

This way I can create a view that is within a certain date range and IS 'Sunday' OR 'Sunday'

Or, I can create a view that shows me what I have due on the next three Mondays and Thursdays etc.

If this is available and I'm missing it please let me know. Thx

Did you know that contexts can be closed/open depending on schedule you set up for them (Tools->Manage contexts-> select the context-> Hours)? Your "Weekend Chores" context can be open on Saturday and Sunday so all the tasks with this context won't be active on weekdays and won't be present in your To-Do list on Mo-Fr. You are always able to filter out tasks by the "Weekend Chores" context even when it's closed. Just make sure "Include closed" is checked.

Hi, Dad. I agree that it would be useful to be able to filter tasks that
start on any Wednesday, etc. I don't see any way to do that now, and
your proposal is a good solution.

Meanwhile I would like to mention how I am managing the concept of
weekend chores. I have a context ">WeekendChores" which is open from 4pm
Friday until 10pm Sunday and a context ">WeekdayChores" which is closed
when the weekend context is open and vice versa. This way I can easily
view the tasks I have coming up for the next weekend.

Dwight,

Thank you.

By the way, can you please share how you choose the advanced filter options for this open/closed contexts you mentioned?

I tried several ways but still not having my tasks the way I want: I mean, there are contexts not included in the advanced filter which tasks (the ones I do not want to show) show up.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, MG. It seems that you are asking a pretty broad question, like perhaps you might be looking for a comprehensive guide to how to write a filter. I definitely don't have time to try to deal with that today. Maybe you could ask Alonya if such a guide exists already.

On the other hand, maybe you could narrow down the request for me. Send a screen capture of a filter you wrote and a screen capture of the task list it produced and tell me what's wrong with the view is creates and what you would like to see instead.

Hi Dwight,

What I need to know is, how to automate the display of tasks with closed/open contexts in Android?

I scheduled some contexts so the tasks they are associated with display at a certain time, but their are still displaying (the tasks with closed contexts) in the filtered view.

I figured out it functions on MLO Desktop, but when writing the same rules in Android or IOS, the view display the tasks with closed contexts, I mean it gets no hidden.

Another thing is, when in MLO Desktop, if I try Advanced Filter to filter only those tasks with closed contexts I choose (whitout additional rules), it returns a blank view.

What am I doing wrong in both cases, the one with Android and IOS and this last one?

Thank you
