TextExpander or other text shortcuts?

Hello,

I have to keep very thorough logs of my project activities and I’ve found it most convenient to use the Project or Task notes themselves (currently in OmniFocus, but I’m evaluating MLO). I start each log entry with the date & time. Is there a way to set up something like I now use TextExpander for, typing #dt, which then expands to the date & time?

Hi Mark.

MLO has configurable hotkeys built in for Date and Time (Tools>Options>General Application Options>Hotkeys). The notes area supports use of any text replacement tool such as TextExpander, PhraseExpress or AutoHotkey. You could also link in the notes area to a log file e.g. a notepad .log file which automatically adds date and time when you open it.

Thanks very much for the reply. I tried to reply to my original post to clarify that I’m using the iOS versions only, but it didn’t go through. Are there any similar options on iPad and iPhone?

I forgot to mention that I use the iOS versions exclusively, and probably will continue to do so...

i am not Apple/Mac/iOS user. 

But, i did a quick google search for the key word 'Textpander' and found there are a few keyboards that will meet your requirements.

FYI, for my use case:
Windows = Autohotkey

Android = Multiling O Keyboard (with Autotext add on)/ Textpand app. :-)
