Hi,

I'm currently an enthusiastic MLO user from the Android world.  In Android, I have an icon to quickly record my voice and then add that task to my inbox as a text entry.  Is there a similar function for IOS devices?  I've checked the videos and the forum without much success.

Thanks,

Devan

I do that all time. There are two ways with MLO:

1) Using Siri, I dictate a reminder sends it to MLO via email which then automatically goes into my Inbox. Siri is accessed by long pressing the Home button. This can be done from sleep mode.
2) I can open MLO and then dictate a new task into my Inbox.

There is an even better way which I hope the developers of MLO some day implement. That is to integrate with a folder in IOS native reminders.

Thanks Eddie,

I added my MLO inbox email as the user "tasks" and now siri recognized it as a mail recipient.

Thanks for the tip,

That's great to hear. The one thing that annoys me is that I have to unlock before Siri will allow me to send an email to MLO.

I use a Plantronics Voyage Edge. Without taking my phone out my pocket, I can long-press a button next to my ear to summon Siri. I use Siri for a lot of things that way.

But sending an email requires me to reach into my pocket and place my Thumb on my home button.

I'm being somewhat facetious obviously. But still, if you or any one knows of a way to bypass unlock for sending an email to MLO, let me know.

Hi, it's been awhile since I had an Android phone. But I suspect there is a way to call up GoogleNow from the lock screen and then have it open an email.

The rest of the process hinges on whether you have set up your MLO to receive new tasks via email.

Anybody in the discussion group know the procedure for using GoogleNow to open and dictate an email...and can help this gentleman?

Thanks,
Eddie

Yes, we really should have a pinned FAQ on this forum. Would help newbies too.

Sorry I've been away from this forum for a bit.

The way I added a button to my home screen was to add a 1 x 1 MLO widget.  When you do that, it will ask you to choose text or voice input.  Write back if that was helpful or if you need more information.

For a while I was puzzled by the advice to 'use the 1x1 widget'. On my HTC One, my list of widgets includes no such thing. But I do have three types of links to place on my screen - apps, widgets and shortcuts. For me, the 1x1 item was called a shortcut. It looks neat, and works just how you describe. Brilliant!

On Android I use a replacement keyboard with good voice recognition, and that option should be available on iOS too, though it does take more keystrokes to initiate.
