Hi, TMZ. I like your idea but instead of a count of modifications I
would keep a count of the number of times that a task had been saved. If
I change the start date and the due date on a task, to me that is one
mod, not two.
I would also like to point out that everyone I know ends up
overestimating how much they are going to get done tomorrow, and some of
the tasks planned for tomorrow are actually going to slide to the next
day. In my view, if you end up going in and fiddling with the parameters
of every task that has split, that means that you are taking good time
that you could use to get things done, and you are using it instead to
manage your task lists. To me, this is a big no-no. I find it important
to find a way to avoid assigning dates to my tasks and instead to manage
them based on the open/closed schedule for the task's context, the
priority (importance), and dependencies. To me, any time I find myself
changing the dates for more than two tasks I consider that my approach
to task management has failed and needs to be fixed.
