I need some help with setting up recurring tasks for my daily/weekly routine tasks. I am using MLO to track tasks with the following structure:

Parent Task - Weekly Routine - Recurring every week

-  First level subtask - Read

   - Second level subtask - Read a book Day 1 - start on Monday

   - Second level subtask - Read a book Day 2 - start on Wednesday

   - Second level subtask - Read a book Day 3 - start on Friday

-  First level subtask - Exercise

    - Second level subtask - Exercise Day 1 - start on Tuesday

    - Second level subtask - Exercise Day 2 - start on Thursday

I notice that whenever I mark the parent task as completed in the above structure, while the parent task and the first level subtask get reset to start dates in the next week, the second level subtasks retain the start date in the first week itself. Hence they now show dates which are before the start of their parents.

Please can you help me set this up correctly?

Hi, Kiran. I recently noticed a similar problem and reported it to MLO Support; I think it's a bug in MLO. I noticed it after my colleague Ray had reported something similar on MLO for Android.

I'm guessing that you have this set up correctly,  and that MLO support will fix the bug. Meanwhile, let me ask you, what benefit do you get from having those first layer subtasks "read" and "exercise"? If you got rid of them and moved your individual tasks such as "exercise on Tuesday" up to level one I am pretty sure it would start to work correctly.

If you need the readability of grouping reading and exercise you could make "weekly routine" "reading" and "exercise" into folders with individually reoccurring tasks, like "read a book day 1" which reoccurs every 1 week on Monday.
