I've worked on this issue for over a month, so I would love help, insight or an explanation.

Am I not seeing a shorter method to sync to the cloud on Android (MLO 2)?
  1. open app
  2. tap 'menu' (sideways |||)
  3. tap cloud
It is difficult to do (and remember to) the five steps (unlock phone, go to my MLO icons and do the above) every morning and after lunch and once I get home.

I've always wanted either an automatically syncing file or a widget that has a single tap to sync.

I can't seem to set up any autosync with Tasker and I don't think MLO has an API.

Am I missing something or do users regularly manually sync like this, and why doesn't MLO allow auto-syncing?

Thank you so much.

Mlo v2 for Android should synch without you telling it to do so. Not immediately but in my experience within about 30 seconds. Try this:
1. edit a task
2. tap hamburger menu and look at the cloud icon./ It should be a cloud with an upward pointing arrow in it, meaning synch is needed. If it's an empty cloud it means the sych happened while you were on your way to this page. Do it again more quickly.
3. Once you have seen the arrow in the cloud, go do something else for a few minutes then come back and look again. If the arrow is gone then you have just witnessed an automatic synch. If the arrow is still there then something is wrong with your system, report it to the support people.

I'm having the same results as TotheMoonAlice with Android MLO2.  I can not get any auto-sync to work. I agree that this is frustrating to have to remember to sync frequently to avoid missing something.

Manually syncing works perfectly every time, in both directions.
The cloud icon with the arrow indicator always accurately displays the sync status.
I have the MLO Cloud Synchronization settings set to enable auto-sync and use cellular data.
I have updated the app several times to the latest versions.

Yet, no matter what actions I take, auto-sync never happens for me.

I guess I'm not following -- I need to open MLO Android and make sure the cloud icon is showing before it will sync?

This morning I completed three tasks, and two hours later sat down at my desktop. MLO synced upon opening, but my tasks were not checked, so I think had to get my phone from my purse, unlock my computer, navigate to MLO and open, and go the sync screen and sync.

You are saying this is not what I should have to do?

Let me guess. Did you use a widget to complete the tasks? Is it possible that the app itself didnt get opened?

One more shot in the dark, is it possible that navigating to mlo and opening it would have been sufficient without actually going to the sync screen and syncing it?
