Help - Build a list which only contains star and active tasks

I want a list, which satisfy the following conditions:

1. only contains unfinished tasks
2. contains ALL active tasks (green tasks)
3. contains ALL star unfinished tasks, regardless of whether it’s active.
4. ALL tasks that not meet the three conditions above, are not included.

I tried these filter rules, not working:

Recurrent task3 neither is active nor has star, is included wrongly, which does not meet the fourth condition above.

I also tried these filter rules, not working too:

Recurrent Task1 which has expired already and obviously are active, are not included in this list.

Try this

The "activeAction" advanced filter is different from "Active Actions" (green tasks) because the advanced filter includes tasks that have a future start date & time. The second line of this advanced filter is the standard coding to match the green "active actions" condition.

I didn't know this field can use keyword `Now`! which the pop-up menu doesn't have.

Glad to help. I have made a request to deprecate the advanced filter "active action" and replace it with two new filters: IsOrWillBeActive which would have the save function as the current filter, only with a less misleading name, and also IsNowActive which would match the coding I gave you (active and((no start date) or (start date in the past))). No response yet but what the heck, it has only been a few years :-)

Just curious, what other keywords can be filled in this field, except for now, today, today+1?
I haven't found associated messages in User's Guide. :)

Hi, I do not have time to test this right now but you could try "yesterday"  and "tomorrow". Also note that you can add and subtract much bigger numbers, like today+3652 would be approximately 10 years from now. Also try non-integers, where the integer part is number of days and the part after the decimal is a fraction of a day. For example now+0.3 is 7 hours 12 minutes from now because 0.3 x 24 = 7.2 and 7.2 hours is 7 hours 12 minutes.
