After updating from 2.3 to 2.4 on Arch Linux, I cannot input accented characters (using the compose key), not CJK characters (using fcitx) when adding cards. The support for these characters works as far as I can see, since I can copy-paste the text into the new card and it is displayed properly.

I haven't seen mention of this problem in this group, as well as in the 2.4.1-pre announcement, so I assume this has not been reported already.
If on the other hand compose key / fcitx input is working in 2.4, I may have to report my issue instead to the Arch AUR package maintainer.

Hi,

I'm afraid text input itself is not directly handled by Mnemosyne. In 2.4, we switched from Qt4 to Qt5, so perhaps fctix needs to be updated to work with Qt5 applications?

See here, e.g.: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/i686/fcitx-qt5/

Cheers,

Peter

Indeed, installing fcitx-qt5 solved the input of CJK characters.
Input of accented characters using the compose key is also working fine now, which is a bit more mysterious.

Many thanks for your help.
