importing cards to Mac

I'm having trouble importing cards that I made on a PC to my Mac. I sent the cards as a .cards file through my email, it won't open on my mac laptop. Any suggestions? I'm not very tech savvy.

Cards files are opened with 'file - import', but they do not contain
your learning data.

It you are going to use both mac and pc, it's best to invest some time
in setting up sync:
