Greetings. I have been reading up on minix for quite some time now. I got started with the minix 2 version of the book, a big interest for me has been the ability to run minix on minimal old hardware such as the intel 8086 or the motorolla 68000 cpu. I am looking to build minimal, non mmu dev boards for use in some automation projects, from what i can tell minix 3 no longer supports minimal non mmu systems.

Is this the correct place to ask for assistance, or is there some other channel that would be better suited for questions reguarding minix 2 and minimal computers built around the 8088 and 68000?

There appears to be support for minimal old 68k and ibm 8086 computers in minix 2, i wanted to see if there was any known working minimal example of hardware that could be build to run minix with not much more than a processor, some memory, and a serial console.

I remember that MINIX 1.X  was developed for the IBM PC with 8086, and the firt Tananebaum's OS book refers to it.
May be Minix 2.X also support this hardware architectures.
Regards.
