Dear sir,

As per Hardness procedure we are often seeing that for P1 material 200 BHN
P4 material 220 or 230 upper limit, but in no case we i have seen lower limit for hardness.

Normally after PWHT Forging material hardness is going down distinctly may be 130-140 BHN.
So Please let us know what is lower limit for hardness and what is reference document for that?

Regards.
Ankit Gandhi.

lower limit shall be derived from ASTM A370 with comparison of minimum
tensile strength.

Dear Mr. Dharmesh,

Thanks for your reply but table 2 of SA 370 is approximate value and we are not knowing actual tensile strength of material after pwht.

Regards,
Ankit Gandhi.
