Non pressure Part skirt support
of vertical vessel not welded directly to vessel.
MOC IS 2062 P no.1 Group 1
Thk. 40 mm
No special service requirement.

For this case whether PWHT is mandatory?

In this case, PWHT is not required, provided

1. minimum applied Preheat is 95degC
 2. Size of the Groove weld is less than 13mm

vessel subject to pwht then weld prior n do pwht.

bcse any way skirt going to weld with pad which directly weld with vessels.

Is their any reference to code that says PWHT not required for non pressure parts. Or only pressure parts required PWHT.

Hi

As the nominal thickness exceeds 38mm then in my opinion you have to carry out PWHT in-order to relieve the residual stresses, else take the risk of catastrophic failures in service..
