Dear sir,

We have stainless steel welding on site.
I want to know that is there any trick to check argon quality and secondly to check argon cylrnder,with litmus paper and like that( as I have doubt that contractor is using nitrogen cylinder, as per specification, we want argon only, may be nitrogen is allowed).

Pls provide any solution.

Under mentioned conditions, a trial weld run will prove if Ar quality is OK.

You can find out by colour code on cylinder.
Also you can ask for argon cylinder test certificate.

Yes best ways is to check colour code on cylinder and certificate. Selection of right gas is for facilitate proper welding for particular welding process. If he has used wrong gas than be sure you will not find desired weld for particular process. If you find weld quality is as per specification and no abnormality than rest assured it will be a right gas.
