This is typical flow accelerated errosion my suggestion is to measure wall thickness on the all elbows. After that you can investigate about root cause of damage. Check operation process values.

This photo don't provide enough information, first, confirm with some details.

1.you sure the leak point is cracking? or just like localized loss of thickness?

2 if localized loss of thickness, if other area have the same issue, or loss of thickness phenomena. if so, you should take care the corrosion issue, review the composition of the medium.

3.if leakage is due to crack, then you should distinguish crack the position where on the weld or along the HAZ, welding quality should be paid more attention. Also, excessive temperature in localized area is another potential reason.

In the end, I suggest more detailed investigation on other similary area is necessary action.

        We have a 6 boiler, same economizer inlet header tube leak at tube to header joint leak,

The header thickness is 18mm and tube is stub in 7mm in header,

I attached a one report which is generated early,

Can you give your valuable suggestion of this failure?
