Dear All,

I have situation where Air Receiver Vessel made of SS 316  designed as per ASME SEC VIII DIV 1 U stamped shipped to site but not yet installed. The vessel is stored on warehouse in packed condition.

The Present design temperature is 70°C which need to be changed to 85°C.

Can you please suggest which are steps we have to take ? Any code reference for recertification ?

Regards

Praphulla

Design only need to be verified, Nothing to do with vessel, However change in temperature is small and only in plus side. Hopefully there will be no R-Stamp.

Thanks & Regards,

This has to be confirm from designer end. Design verification is to be done and confirm from his end that there is no need for any change in vessel Drawing.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi

Please revise the design documents and get it approved by ASME AI & by Client as well.
If already applied for NBR, revise and resubmit for registration again (including the changes).

A Code vessel can not be stamped two times with a Code stamp. In case of repair, alteration or re rating it has to be stamped with the "R" stamp‎.

Hi Praphulla

The vessel should be rerated. You may use the approach as recommended by NBIC or API-510.

Thanks.
