Dear sir,

I have two WPS and PQR separately.
1) SMAW up to 32mm
2) GMAW up to 32mm

But while using combination if these two process, is it necessary for me prepare separate PQR or by combining these two available PQR we can make third WPS.

Regards
Prasad

Dear Prasad,
You can prepare the WPS with the combination of two PQRs in accordance with the clause QW200.4 (b)- ASME Section IX: 2015 Edition.

No need to prepare the PQRs, again, for more information please refer above clause in ASME Section IX.

Dear sir,

Thank for reply.
I ave referred the ASME sec is, clause QW200.4 a and b both. It is talking about base metal thickness and metal deposition thickness only.

My query is that, combination of these processes, doesn't affect the base metal properties?
i.e. all other essential variables of both processes does not required to be a compared. (means not required to be same).

Regards
Prasad

Dear Prasad

The properties will not affect if the correct consumables used, ensure that the essential variables are met for each welding process.
