Regarding E6013 and E7018

Dear sir,

As per API 650, above 12mm E7018 has to be use. Means up to 12mm E6013 has to use.
I have only query to ask that, why e6013 not allow to use above 12mm.

E 6013 electrode was primarily designed to provide good wetting and shallow penetration for thin sheet metal applications and E7018 provides medium penetration

6013 is having Hydrogen level of >15<30PPM and if it is used in higher and multi-layer welding, there is lot of change for HICC, so it is restricted for thickness below 13mm
