Dear experts,

Pl. Provide the calculation for finding welding parameters like current and voltage if the carbon equivalent of steel is known?. Does this work good for alloy steels also?

Regards,

Dear Charles,

The choice of welding parameters like current and Voltage is dependent on the choice of welding process and consumable used and not on Carbon Equivalent. Carbon equivalent is a weldability factor which gives you sense of materials conditioning prior to welding like preheat temperature and during welding and after welding for the avoidance of welding issues like cracking.
