Hi guys. Hope everyone's doing well.
So, I'm busy with my second project in Logic and my first time ever, working with the session players.
I'm busy going through the Logically Speaking tutorials but went ahead because I want to find out how to use the session players.

So here's the question:
I added a drum track session player, and adjusted the sounds to how I wanted it.
I have 8 bars right. I see under the track contents area that I can interact with the regions and that I can adjust the length and that you can adjust the left and right handle separately.
I think I saw a video on Youtube but I would need to take out a subscription.
I've tried playing around with the handles, interacting with for∮ handles, and using VO plus right and left arrows. But the info doesn't make sense?
For example, moving the right border to the right I think, I expect the number of bars to increase, but the numbers go lower and lower according to that which Voiceover announces.
And when I stop interacting twice to where I can check the starting and ending positions with the help of the help tag, it's sort of doing it but sometimes I've adjusted it to 8 bars and 2 beats or something.
How does the info work in that slider and xis there a way to check how long my region is without stopping interacting etc. etc?

If anyone could just give me step by step instructions on how the logic works and if there is a different hotkey to adjust the handles, I'll be grateful

On my project, I've recorded piano, strings and clarnet, and afterwards included a drum session player. And the drummer is right on beat, but it sounds slightly off-beat with the rest of the music. Is there anyway I can adjust that? I've tried to let the drums follow the piano or strings but ...

Thanks for your help guys. I'm really learning a lot.

Here’s how it’s working for me. I haven’t worked with the session players much but i was able to adjust drummer region lengths by doing the following:
1. Interact with the drummer region with in the track contents area.
2. VO right to the move right border handle.
3. interact with it with VO shift down arrow.
At this point pressing VO right arrow will extend the region length by 2 beats. VO announces the new length of the region every time that you press either VO left or right arrow.
I have noticed however, that though the region length does change, VO does not give accurate information consistently.
While adjusting the region length, you can press control+home and control +end (FN+control+left or right arrow) to have VO announce the start and end position of the region. This is another way that you can check the region length.
Once you’re done adjusting the region length, stop interacting with the region border handle.

I hope this helps. VO’s interaction with Logic seems pretty unstable when dealing with this type of thing, but this should get you in the right direction.

Hi Daniel. Thank you. You always come to my rescue! Thanks, I will try it out.
Regarding my slightly out-of-sync tracks, I think I will just add a drummer region and expand it for how long the song has to be, play piano with it. I find it much easier following drums than a metronome. And then tweeck the drums afterwards.
i mostly only record gospel songs on piano, and add strings, drums, base and other instruments if needed.

If you know where you want the region to end, select the region and then move the playhead to where you want the region to end. For example if the session player region ends at bar 9 but you want it to end at bar 11, once you have the region selected, move the play head to bar 11. Then press Command Right Bracket to set the region to end where the playhead is. Press Command Shift Slash to regenerate the session player performance so that now it will end where the region ends.
You can also nudge the end of the region with Option Sift Left/right arrows, essentially the key command for what you are doing when you interact with the track contents area. You can set how much it moves by setting the nudge value. Control Option D sets the nudge value to Division or Control Option B set the nudge value to beat or Control Option M sets the nudge value to Measure for example. You may also need to refresh it again after nudging the end of the region.
Going into the track content area is tedius so I try to use key commands where I can to work quickly and efficiently.

nice man I didn't know about the regenerate command. I tried the command right bracket but didn't hear the playback reach that point.

You guys are amazing. Wow... thanks. And I assume there are key commands for nudging the whole region as well?
