When Kurento is building a media pipeline and it needs to do
transcoding, will it automatically select the GStreamer plugins for GPU
transcoding?

Or is it necessary to manually insert these into the pipeline when the
GPU is present?

There was a VDPAU plugin too but it has been removed in 1.18

kurento does not support GPU transcoding, and uses old gstreamer (1.7 if I remember right)

We are working in the process to make Kurento use the latest version of GStreamer, but it is in progress.

Best regards
