MariaDB Galera Cluster

Hello all,

does anyone have experience with MariaDB Galera Cluster as a database for Keycloak? Is it supported?

Galera support is currently very limited.

I've tried some setups and mariadb with galera works best for me.

However since this setup does not support XA transactions, make sure to read this:

https://www.keycloak.org/server/db ("Using Database Vendor without XA transaction support")

I've also tried Percona XtraDB and it is not working with Keycloak.

Keycloak needs another transaction type that is also not supported by Percona XtraDB but I forgot it's name.

I have no experience with it but Red hats documentation for Red Hat
SSO (the red hat supported version of Keycloak) mentions it as a
supported clustering method,
https://access.redhat.com/articles/2342861 lists it under "Cross-Site
Replication has been tested with the following configurations on a
regional basis:"
I believe Red Hat SSO is still based on Keycloak 17.x
