to KNA
Hi All,
Hope that everyone is doing as well as possible in these most chaotic of times.
As some of you know, I’ve been thinking about resigning my position as KNA Chair for a few seasons now and have held off so far but….
This past year was hard with some of the internal issues among board members as well as my own life becoming busier again (finally) as the pandemic shut downs start to wane a bit more.
Also…it is my firm belief that no organization can stay green without cultivating new (and younger) participants and that seems to be what I hear from other non profits. There is surely a lot of
Good from the”institutional wisdom and experience” of grey beards like myself but again, new energies are vital to keep the flow going forward.
So…with that said,I want to let everyone know that I’m going to announce this at our next meeting and would like you to start thinking about which individual ( or more) would be good folks to succeed me in this role.
I would like to bow out before the annual spring meeting when we officially vote but am willing to stay on board for a while if it takes some time to enact this. I’ll, of course, work with new folks to transition contacts, bank account, etc.
I’ve been on the board for almost two decades in differing roles and serving as chair for 9 years and …it’s time to make room for others.
My commitment to KERNS has not diminished at all but as I age I’m more aware than ever that time and energy are the finite qualities and I need to be a bit more careful now about how I spend whatever I have left…’nuff said.
Thanks to you all for your support here and for your ongoing interest and support of our beloved KERNS!
One other thing: Rebecca contacted me recently and has some yard signs, posters, banners, etc. that she doesn’t want to store anymore at her home so…is there anyone who has a little space in a garage/basement, attic/etc.who can take these in?
*I also have two pop up canopies that belong to KNA that will need a new home . They fold vertically into quite compact storage bags, fyi.
Thanks for considering this ask.
Okay, that’s the story for from today. Hope to see you next week at our Jan. meeting.
In Support, With Appreciation,
Jay Harris, PhD, JSPS (*Just Some Poor Schnook!)
