I'm just curious -- has anyone here done anything with the VHF/UHF
downconverter in the RX888? Is it accessible using the Linux driver?
From the schematics I've seen, it looks like the converter uses the
same clock as the ADC, so it should be able to have excellent
stability/accuracy when used with a GPSDO.

I guess I should play with it and pull it into my version if it works. Yeah, it's no better than an Airspy R2 since both use the same TV tuner front end with a ~8 MHz bandwidth, but it's worth supporting just for the flexibility.

The Airspy R2 has external clocking at 10 MHz, which is why I have so much 10 MHz floating around my shack.
I don't really need a precise clock to monitor the local
repeaters, but it was handy when I was looking at local digital TV
pilot carriers.

I have been running a 2m receiver with ka9q-radio and airspyR2 for about 6 months.
I have spare rx888s. Suggestions on swapping the receivers? (Conf file or other changes)

I was using the airspyR2 to monitor 2m repeaters especially during server weather.
I will explore the possibilities.
Dave KV0S
Dave, are you using an external frequency reference on your Airspy R2? Not really meaningful for FM repeater monitoring, but obviously useful for WSPR spotting. It requires 10 MHz rather than 27 MHz, which is a problem if you also monitor WWV on 10 MHz; it gets everywhere.
The Airspy R2 will automatically switch to the external reference
when present, but be careful. It *may* lock up if it loses that
reference (instead of reverting to the internal TCXO). This may
require a power cycle of the device, or at least a reboot of the
host.

Robert:
Yes, on Ali you cannot start the refund process for something you did not receive, until you mark it as received;
The process to get their maze, step by step is:
On order , awaiting deliver page: click Order Details
Next to item , click: Returns/Refunds
On “Have You Received Your Package” : Click Yes (Otherwise it loops you to just wait for delivery)
This brings you to Returns/Refunds: Then you can get to indicate what not is right because of fake delivery. It’s useful to have captured the tracking dialog that shows where it was actually delivered and to point t the correct shipping address. (Paste in the dialog with tracking)
However I cannot step you through from this point now because their system now is crashing at that point.
Will catch up later when their system is back on line.

Thanks Lester. So you are saying on Ali, MARK it as delivered then proceed to show it was delivered with a tracking number that was NOT my address?
Sorry for the ignorance here, I have not had to deal with this before.
I think the problem is the real people at Ali have not gotten in the loop yet. The seller tried to buy me off with a 10% refund. Refused.
TNX!

The delivery to another address on a tracking number given to you is a seller scam I know well.
On AliExpress hark it delivered so that you can claim a refund and then show the tracking delivery information from the shipper to Ali . This worked for me in the past.

Bob N4HY, When I checked the store that sold it, it showed "on vacation" As Ali recommeds, start with the vendor. That does not sound good.
Do you know where on Ali a complaint can be stated? I've never had a problem to know where to go.
I'd think between Ali and PayPal, we should be protected.
Hopefully.......

I ordered one too. Something isn't right. Supplied Fedex tracking shows package was delivered to address in Washing dc area yesterday. Not my package, was 61 lbs.
Mine, the RX888 is still due by 7/25. Do I wait and see or raise a red flag with Ali now?
Finding where to do that with Ali is in itself a mystery.
Any advice? I've always had good luck with Ali.
