Subject: Fwd: Comp@ss - Internship Program @ MPI for Solid State Research 2025 - Second Open Call for Applications

Dear Sossina,

We have recently opened the second call of the COMP@SS program at our
Institute, which offers fully-funded interhsips to students from
underrepresented countries - for more information see below and here:

https://www.fkf.mpg.de/compass

Since so far we received an underwhelmingly low number of applications,
I was wondering if you could help us to distribute the call to your
networks, especially in Africa, and make interested students or relevant
Universities aware of this opportunity? The call is appended below.

This would be super helpful and much appreciated! Let me know if you
have questions or want more information on the program.

Thanks and best wishes

Bettina

Dear Colleague,

as we at the *Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research
<https://www.fkf.mpg.de/en>*in *Germany *attach great importance to
diversity, inclusion and equality, we would like to increase the
proportion of young scientists from the Global South, who are currently
severely underrepresented in our research community.

After a successful first edition, we are happy to announce the *second
edition* of our Comp@ss program which offers fully-funded internships to
students from the global south. The primary objective of this program is
to give talented undergraduate students with a background in condensed
matter science the opportunity to conduct scientific projects at our
world-renowned research institute and in partner groups at the
University of Stuttgart. In particular, we will give preference to
applications submitted by students living in least-income countries.

We would like to draw your attention to the*second open call for
applications (Open till 27.02.2025) and kindly ask you to disseminate
the information and encourage your students to apply*. Detailed
information about the program, including a list of available projects,
can be found on this website:

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

The COMP@SS Project Team
