Why the code is not compiling

I forked jenkins and I get compile errors, I tried also 1.620 tag and I also get compile errors (for example a call to a constructor that does not exist).

any idea why?

Try using Oracle JDK 7 or 8. If you use an IDE, try the command line `mvn` command (3.0.5 or up IIRC) instead.
