Custom workspace for a MAVEN job

Hi Jenkins developers,
It seems that the following issue is also missing from the latest release:
https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-8848
I am using the WAR edition with version number 1.597 in JBOSS.
Any idea how to set a custom workspace for a MAVEN job?
